Predictions (Homework)
Write a paragraph about what happened in the last chapter you read. Based on that, write down three things you predict will happen in the next chapter(s). Due Thursday, October 23, for 6B and 6D; due Friday, October 24, for 6A and 6C.
Probable Passages (Classwork)
Students will complete a Probable Passages chart as group work. 6B, 6D: due in class on Wednesday, October 22. 6A, 6C: due in class on Thursday, October 23.
Scary Story Conventions Chart (Classwork)
Students will work in groups to chart conventions in a scary story ("The Hook"). Due in class on Tuesday, October 21, for 6B and 6D; due Wednesday, October 22, for 6A and 6C.

Students will complete the Scary Story Characteristics chart in class as group work. 6A, 6B, 6D: due in class on Monday, October 22; 6A, 6C: due in class on Tuesday, October 21.

Assignment #24: Memoir Project Due!
The final draft of the memoir project is due on Thursday, October 16, for 6B and 6D; it is due on Friday, October 17, for 6A and 6C.
To get full credit, students should turn in:
- their final draft, written on loose-leaf paper, single-spaced
- their Reader's and Writer's Notebook (the one with the sticker!), which should include their memoir web, their "show, don't tell" chart, and their three leads
